As an Instagrammer, I'm always on the hunt for cute and aesthetic cafes & restaurants so I can shoot content while satisfying my foodie cravings. Plus with it being -40 degrees Celsius in the winter, and winter is essentially 6 months in Toronto, it's essential to find nice indoor places to shoot so my feed doesn't permanently look like I'm a burrito in my parka! Thankfully, Toronto is filled with pretty little places that not only make a beautiful backdrop for your shots, but also feature absolutely gorgeous AND delicious food that will make your tummy happy and have you coming back for more! Below are my top 10 brunch spots to shoot at across the city! 1. CAFE LANDWER // 165 UNIVERSITY AVE. I swear this is a hidden gem, because I have never seen this cute little brunch spot on any Instagram list. Located on the intersection of Adelaide St. West & University Ave., it's my go to spot every Thursday after dance class. I've basically gone through their entire menu, and I have to say they satisfy my carb cravings every time haha! Plus, the interior decor is so on point, I get a different backdrop every time I go! My top dishes here are their butternut squash soup, margherita pizza, & tomato basil spaghetti! 2. EARLY BIRD CAFE // 613 QUEEN ST. WEST Also known as the Early Bird Coffee & Kitchen, this little cafe is located on Queen St. West, although I believe they have multiple locations. They're known for their beautiful food arrangements and the chic lofty interior design. Seriously, even if you're not a blogger, you can't resist a picture before devouring it! My top dishes here are their EB Avocado Toast & Matcha Latte 3. BADDIES TORONTO // 679 LANSDOWNE AVE. You're not truly a Toronto blogger if you haven't been to Baddies! You'll always find a ton of bloggers and instagrammers here. Located near Lansdowne station, their industrial lofty interior decor is perfect for a minimalist backdrop. You probably have also seen hundreds of shots of their wall saying "You Beauty" because yes, you're beautiful! Their food taste absolutely delicious and healthy, plus their arrangements are definitely #foodporn worthy. My top dishes here are their Nue-Avo toast & their daily bakery items are to die for 4. DINEEN OUTPOST // 1042 GERRARD ST. EAST Another cafe with mutliple locations, Dineen is more of a cafe and light bites than brunch I would say, but their interior was totally worth the trek to Leslieville. They also have a more modern location downtown, but I haven't been there yet. From the pictures, both locations look beautiful and are prime spots to capture some shots! I don't exactly have any top picks here as I've only been once, but their carrot cake and croissant sandwiches were delicious! 5. MILDRED'S TEMPLE KITCHEN // 85 HANNA AVE. This eclectic restaurant is almost always booked full on weekends for brunch, so make sure to make a reservation ahead of time or be prepared to be waiting a long time in line. Located near Liberty Village, this modern upscale restaurant will make you feel cozy and relaxed. My top dishes here are the Temple Burger, and I will never forget how delicious and heavenly their scones & biscuits were!! 6. BARCELONA TAVERN // HANNA AVE & SNOOKER ST. I discovered this little gem because the first time I wanted to go to Mildred's, I was not informed of how long the line was gonna be XD Upon arrival, I was told it was 2 hours of a wait! So instead, my friend and I wandered around Liberty Village, and we stumbled upon this cute little restaurant. Their rustic and colorful interior caught my eye, and I was not disappointed by their menu! They also have a light filled patio that's indoors so you can enjoy patio season all year round! Plus, the servers are super friendly, and when we asked to take some pictures downstairs after we ate on the patio, they happily agreed! My top dishes here are LOBSTER RAVIOLI (I will never forget how creamy it was!) paired with their chef's Brioche bun (so soft and buttery!!) 7. CALII LOVE // 367 KING ST. WEST Poke bowls and smoothie bowls will always have a special place in my heart, and when you can have it all, it's heaven! Plus when you walk in, you're basically teleported to the dreamy California (although I've never been, but a girl can dream). With colorful pastels, the cutest wallpapers, and all the beach vibe decor, there are no bad angles to shoot. They also have multiple locations, but my favourite is located at King & Bay st. They also have beautiful wing murals on the outside walls! My top dishes here are the Loved smoothie bowl and I always create my own salmon poke! 8. LA CUBANA // 392 RONCESVALLES AVE. Never in my life would I thought I'd crave Cuban food, but this little diner definitely won my heart with all the Havana vibes! Who doesn't love some pastels and checkered floors? They have multiple locations as well, but my go-to is the Roncesvalles location, their bar is set up is just so pleasing! My top dishes here are their pork shoulder plate (I've never had fried plantains this good) & KEY LIME PIES! Also I was introduced to fried plantains by this place and it is now always one of my cravings when I want salty things. 9. FANTAIL BAKERY-CAFE // 333 RONCESVALES AVE. Honestly, Ronces is filled with hip cafes. I love the quaint vintage vibes of this place, plus their food is super creative! Anything from quiches to scones to cakes to satisfy your salty and sweet cravings. Their gold detailed wallpaper is such a great backdrop, and they have their menu written on a full length mirror so you can check out your outfit and food at the same time haha My top dishes here are their Chai Latte and smoked cheddar arugula scones! 10. CAFE CANCAN // 89 HARBORD ST. Okay, so I've never actually been here BUT it is next on my list of to-gos! Another popular brunch spot, especially if you're all about that pink feed! Their food also looks delicious, and oh so beautiful! That's all for now! I hope you enjoyed this list and found yourself some new places to try out and get some cute shots at! If you have any favourite Toronto brunch places that's not on this list, let me know below!
